Stacey is a public interest lawyer with over a decade of experience in complex litigation and strategic legal advice. She has advocated for clients in numerous Australian jurisdictions, achieving landmark outcomes such as a $1M fine against Japanese whalers, and securing almost $3M from a coal mine for environmental rehabilitation. Stacey has also contributed to law reform, public education and capacity building within affected communities and regulatory bodies.
Stacey has held senior roles with NSW government environmental regulators and spent several years at the Environmental Defenders Office, including as Managing Lawyer. Stacey has also worked in private practice and as tipstaff to a judge of the NSW Land and Environment Court. She holds a Master of Laws in Transnational Crime and Justice, a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts.
